I heart Halloween!
Last Halloween I was sick in London. I spent the night watching football in sweats in the American sportsbar with a few friends and strangers and it was a good time. However, I really love dressing up so I decided to go all out this year. Starting on Wednesday we poured some wine, ate these cupcakes, and watched Casper.
Friday we had some people over to watch Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic....
Unexpected BIG Moments in my life
The other day I was thinking about how I am a product of my experiences and my reactions to them. While I was pondering this, it occurred to me that I have had mountain top experiences and rough patches but those were all anticipated, they had some kind of lead up, foreshadowing if you will. On the other hand, I do have a few very significant moments that came out of the blue (or at least that I...

I heart Fall
I spent last fall abroad in the UK which was both amazing and very different for me. While I wish on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis that I could teleport back to a place where castle ruins are a frequent as Liberals in the South*, I really missed the season of fall at home.
1) The weather here is a little more my speed because I dislike being cold and it’s mid October and some afternoons...
I am more than aware that my 21 days ended long ago. As it drew to a close I found myself unhappy with the daily goals that I had created. For example:
Today I love my hips in a jersey dress. The dress sways as fluidly as I do and makes me feel as graceful as I wish to be.
Goal #21: To stop messing with my toenails and let them be. It’s weird, it’s unnecessary and I need to have...
Read, read, read. Read everything—trash, classics, good and bad, and see how...

Today I love my ankles. I don’t know why I think they’re so interesting, maybe it’s the way they curve inward even though they are a connection between my foot and leg. I love that they hold memories in my anklets and significant events in my tattoo.
Goal #20: To think more about my tone and the way in which I make comments out loud. To make sure that my lightheartedness is...
Today I love my knees, knobbly as they are. I am fascinated by the way they work and bend. I love the awkward hairs that I missed, the multiple scars I have from childhood. I am grateful that I do not suffer from pain when I move.
Goal #19: To be fully present to the things I commit myself to: my education, my organizations, my friendships, my health etc. These are things I have selected to do in...
Today I love my shoulders. They are strong and tough and bear the weight for me.
Goal #18: Make reasonable food guidelines for myself. Example: I love chocolate, to try and eliminate that from my diet would be ridiculous and I would only end up getting mad at myself. Instead it makes more sense to focus on attainable things like portion control and no binge eating.

Public Service Announcements
Dear people I pass on the wooded paths near the apartments:
I am very sorry if I have offended you by seemingly ignoring you on the sidewalk. Nine times out of ten I am not ignoring you but focused on the leaves to the right of the path. Mostly because something has just moved in the leaves and I am frantically trying to locate it so it won’t scare me. True story; I will flip a shit if...
Today I love my nose and how I scrunch it to express all kinds of feelings. While the feelings can vary, I’m pretty sure I’m making the same face all the time. But it’s a cute one so it’s all good.
Goal #17: I am who I am, regardless of other people. While they can influence me, they do not create me. So why should my worth be created by comparison to them? My worth is...
(Friday) I love the different clothes that empower me, more specifically I love that I am empowered in my Marvel heroes shirt, rough jeans, flannel shirt, and my nerd glasses.
Goal #16: Sleep makes the world run, don’t skimp on it.
